Tsen spirits

Post by lorem »

We're here to grow and learn.

I've read that Guru Rinpoche warned against the magical displays of the tsen class of spirits but the protectors we pray to are bound but should be careful.

Offerings to different types of sentient beings are not secret. Patrul Rinpoche said that tsen spirits are a type of preta composed of the space and air elements. We offer them black tea, beer, etc.

I offer them the earth, water and fire elements also. Seems like it would be pleasing.

Offer white nagas milk, yogurt, honey, cinnamon.

Etc., etc.

There is also the whole every Tibetan lineage seems to hold some as fully enlightened and emanations of Buddhas and bodhisattvas and others as not. So one tsen protector is enlightened in Geluk but not Kagyu or Nyingma, vice versa and all around.

So for example Setrap Protector who I feel a heart connection with sewed Padmakara's shoe onto his hat. I feel he is an emanation of Buddha Amitabha. But I don't think the Drikung Kagyu do.
I should be meditating.
