Mother Tantra Pledges

Mother Tantra Pledges

Postby Konchog1 » Mon Jul 22, 2013 6:35 am

I'm thinking of putting it here so a discussion can start. But a mod can move it to Tantra Talk if they want.

I was reading this:

Do the Mother Tantra pledges prohibit

1. a non-tantric sexual relationship with a ordinary person (i.e. a spouse)

and

2. being a monk?

Or am I understanding them wrong?
Equanimity is the ground. Love is the moisture. Compassion is the seed. Bodhicitta is the result.

-Paraphrase of Khensur Rinpoche Lobsang Tsephel citing the Guhyasamaja Tantra

"All memories and thoughts are the union of emptiness and knowing, the Mind.
Without attachment, self-liberating, like a snake in a knot.
Through the qualities of meditating in that way,
Mental obscurations are purified and the dharmakaya is attained."

Personally I'm overwhelmed by my beginner's practice. The chances that my practice will ever utilize anything like that are slim to none.

Just sayin'...

I have 1. on good authority that its applicable only if it can be for example if you are in a relationship its not always possible, So don't worry to much ask your Lama. :namaste:
Abandoning Dharma is, in the final analysis, disparaging the Hinayana because of the Mahayana; favoring the Hinayana on account of the Mahayana; playing off sutra against tantra; playing off the four classes of the tantras against each other; favoring one of the Tibetan schools—the Sakya, Gelug, Kagyu, or Nyingma—and disparaging the rest; and so on. In other words, we abandon Dharma any time we favor our own tenets and disparage the rest.

You're starting a discussion about tantric pledges in a public forum. Might as well stick a knife in the toaster while you're at it.
People will know nothing and everything
Remember nothing and everything
Think nothing and everything
Do nothing and everything
