I can't find a previous thread specifically on the Blue Annals so I started this one.
The Blue Annals were written by Go Lotsawa Zhonnu Pel (1392-1481), a student of the fifth Karmapa Deshin Shekpa and Tsongkhapa. Go Lotsawa became abbot of Karmarning Monastery and was a teacher of the sixth Karmapa Thongwa Dönden.
The Blue Annals, completed in 1478, are an ecclesiastical history of Tibetan Buddhism focusing on the dissemination of the practice lineages throughout Tibet.
Here is a summary of the Blue Annals.

“Where do atomic bombs come from?”
Zen Master Seung Sahn said, “That’s simple. Atomic bombs come from the mind that likes this and doesn’t like that.”
"Even if you practice only for an hour a day with faith and inspiration, good qualities will steadily increase. Regular practice makes it easy to transform your mind. From seeing only relative truth, you will eventually reach a profound certainty in the meaning of absolute truth."
Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.
"Only you can make your mind beautiful."

Re: Blue Annals
George Roerich's translation is still in print, also e-book versions (colossal size of files) are available:

Any criticism of his translation?

Re: Blue Annals
He certainly does not use what has become standard terminology among Buddhist scholars, but it's generally possible to figure out what the Tibetan was without too much trouble. I wouldn't formulate any new historical theories based on Roerich's translation without checking the Tibetan, though.
