Some Western based Mahayana Buddhist organisations have departed from using the traditional Chinese/Japanese Lunar calendars and adapted it to the Gregorian one.
For example, if a celebration falls on the 8th day of the 4th Month in the Lunar Calendar, they will adapt it to become the 8th of April in the Western/Gregorian Calender, perhaps to suit local needs and adaptation.
