QM argument: Huayan Buddhism

Postby devilyoudont » Sat Jul 23, 2011 12:52 pm

The universe isn't "real" or "unreal", but consists of "correlations without correlata", with comprehensibility resulting from interpenetrating quantum entanglements without the need for "waves", "particles" or concrete entities in any shape or form? No really, this isn't New Age BS, it's an argument from genuine QM for emptiness as the Seal of Reality if I've ever seen one! The best ancient intellectual precursor I can think of to this great talk is Huayan Buddhism. See for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEaecUuEqfc (some knowledge of QM beyond popular science presentations is essential)

QM = quantum mechanics?
Every time you recite Amita Buddha’s name, a ray of light shines through empty space. If you recite very sincerely, then this light fills up the universe, so that the energy of all worlds will be auspicious and harmonious.
