Namaste,
my obeisances to all,
--------------------------
I would like to propose to everyone a day
to chant the Shurangama Mantra, together, as much as we
can, for the benefit of all the sentient beings on earth.
What about Sunday 7th of July?
Together we can make the difference.
At least 1 mantra (10 minutes). I'll try at least 7.
Just say "I'm in"
Since we all have a different time zones,
I suggest that we chant soon in the morning,
like that, we can make a chain of mantras
throughout the day.
Then, at the end of the session, we can offer
the merits to mother earth and all its inhabitants.
Good things can happen if we gather enough
people. Spread the idea please! Sunday the 7th.

"The very best is for those who want to recite the Shurangama Mantra to do it for the sake of the entire world;
transfer all the merit to the whole world. There isn't anything more important in Buddhism than the Shurangama Mantra."
Venerable Master Hsuan Hua

Yours Gratefully
John

Jonaz, just some thoughts...

Are you aware that this is the specific Dzogchen forum within Tibetan Buddhism and that what you are posting is not common to their practice as compared to the East Asian Mahayana Tradition?
Is what you're posting anything connected with the world of Dzogchen teaching & practice?

You are aware that in Tibetan Buddhism, they do not simply recite mantras unless with a teacher's instruction or oral transmission in most cases other than the commonly allowable ones?
Besides, you've already posted the event in the Mahayana forum, why a duplicate here? :thanks:

The Shurangama Sutra and Mantra is also connected to Dzogchen, I am pretty sure

Good! Next Sunday they can all chant the Shurangama Mantra with the support of their teacher

Because, since I am not doing this for me, but for the welfare of everyone, I thought I could find more attendees here..

I hope you'll join us in this service, plwk!
Namaste

Brother, we are all doing our mantras and practice with the same intention and purpose, so in that sense we are always joining with you :namaste:

I am not going to waste my time explaining the importance of the congregational chanting
to skilled peoples like you are.
If 50 or 100 sadhakas gather to chant the Shurangama mantra next Sunday,
the results can be amazing: peace, enlightment can emerge from that.
Forget about being special or esoteric, Buddhism is about ending suffering,
so, I am just asking for 10 minutes from "you" at least.
Anyway, I will be chanting all the morning, for you too.

With love,
John
