This forum is used by humans and can't be other than directionless.
Directionless is good and rich.

[We bore the malas off anyone else so they go elsewhere].

Ooops missed your first Q.
A Buddhist is anyone whose speech acts indicates that s/he self identifies as such.
All the rest is just window dressing and daft clothes..

Bored!!!!
A Buddhist?
Obviously the wrong sort of Buddhist if boredom features.
Should be locked in a room and made to chant Nembutsu 'til they see sense.
That'd cure 'em.

A Buddhist is someone who takes (note present tense) refuge in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.

Sanskrit's subtler.
There's a present continuous tense.
Greek too..... the aoristic

"To keep on keeping on"
doesn't quite do it justice, but close enough.

Taimni and Dion Fortune in my youth. Although I have absolutely no interest in these traditions now, I agree that their part in bringing Buddhist ideas to the West is an interesting topic for discussion, but wince at the idea that either Theosophy or the occult could have any relevance to Western Buddhism now.
Forum membership to any particular forum (Buddhist) or otherwise is not a prerequisite to learning and particpating in what interests you.
