Actually, Dechen Norbu, H.P. Blavatsky made it a point to not be identified with the orientalists, like Max Mueller and such.

Did you happen to read the post about H.P. Blavatsky, H.H. the Dalai Lama, and the Panchen Lama, that I linked to a couple posts ago?

I can understand people marveling with that sort of stuff when we hadn't access to the real thing. Now that it is here, more or less available to everyone with some interest, it's just plain stupid. Sorry man, that's how I see it.

Blavatsky taught a Luciferian doctrine, which is not what Buddhism teaches. In fact, I have never seen the names Satan or Lucifer in a Buddhist text.
