How would your life be different without Buddhism?

Anything goes (almost).

How would your life be different without Buddhism?

Postby Luke » Tue Dec 07, 2010 5:40 pm

Since first discovering Buddhism when I was 16, Buddhism has had a big influence on my life. I feel very grateful to have found the one religion which continually satisfies and fascinates me with its endless depth and wisdom.

If I had not discovered Buddhism, I think I would just be re-reading the Tao Te Ching and the I-Ching at night and experiencing pleasant feelings from reading them, but I would still be longing for something deeper.

What do you think you'd be doing now if you had never discovered Buddhism?

Well not to be smart  but....

I produced the circumstance of encountering Buddhism in this life. I then would have been not I if I did not so. Another circumstantial production which is not I.
But as I be circumstance in presentation I never encounters Buddhism. Circumstance it is that encounters the thing called I to meet the thing called Buddhism.

Niether I nor Buddhism nor appearence really exists. So no I may encounter Buddhism in this life.
Nothing may be met and nothing may be not met. Nothing as well may be found to be living nor dead, nor not living.

So..... being not smart.....I would not probably understand that
So I would not be as happy as I am smiling away. On this thread
"This order considers that progress can be achieved more rapidly during a single month of self-transformation through terrifying conditions in rough terrain and in "the abode of harmful forces" than through meditating for a period of three years in towns and monasteries"....Takpo Tashi Namgyal.

I'd probably be a Sufi or in a Gurdjieff group. Not sure how that would have turned out.

I would feel my life to be meaningless and not understand why.
With Buddhism, I understand why life is meaningless.

What would be the alternative cluster of aggregates appearing to to itself as if being a continuum?
There is no knowing.

Kind regards
