No ALL parents are bad. Not ALL problems are results of parents. If your theory was correct then there would be no good people in the world and we would have all killed each other by now.

And I thought I was the only one.

EDIT But I do think Seishin has a clearer comment.

Well obviously just because of the size of the population and years we've been on this planet that theory will match. I think statistics...

Bodhicitta is the cure to our problems though my friend.
I should be meditating.

Moved to the lounge as I think this is a better location for the subject matter.

Children are meant to have a lot of fun, and safety. They´re not meant to have responsibilities like adults. But they´re also exposed to reality, even in an early age. They have a life that adults cannot control, so we don´t know how they live their lives until they become adults.

A short comment, there´s no thick books about child theories about kids in Buddhism. Let´s just say that kids are also humans, but they´re also half-holy for Buddhists so they deserve special attention.

And no, parents are not "bad". But what do I know, I think bad parents are usually rare cases.

Parents cannot be modeled as "bad". (I did not say they are "bad")

They are modeled as "emptyness".

They imitate bad behavior learned from their own parents.

For example:

If I tell you to kill a cat and you do it, you are not bad. You are empty. You do not have any mind nor courage to say no.

-

Standard parent behavior is:

Numb with so called love and have fun with the child. The child loses true nature and life force even when they are adult.

You cannot see this fact because of fear (and it is very normal).

Ride the king's highway
Weird scenes inside the gold mine
Ride the highway West, baby
Ride the snake
Ride the snake
To the lake
To the lake
The ancient lake, baby
The snake is long
Seven miles
Ride the snake
He's old
And his skin is cold
The West is the best
The West is the best
Get here and we'll do the rest
The blue bus is calling us
The blue bus is calling us
Driver, where are you taking us?
I should be meditating.

If you have a son or daughter give them a hug or tell them you love them and you will feel. You can see it in the child. It is a spark in the eyes, a kind of light that brightens.

This world would be a very 'empty' place without love.

Sounds like a self-interest-behavioral-psych model but my opinion.
I should be meditating.

What do you mean by "This world would be a very 'empty' place without love." It is already a very empty place. You are from USA. I understand you, you are disconnected from the rest of the planet. You do not see the situation. We are burning... :hi:

Maybe silence is the way. Maybe something does get lost in translation.

I think you´re "right". It´s the words you use that make your stance seem a bit arrogant (no offence).

Since the OP has his question answered, I'm closing this thread before it devolves into another circular one.
