When I release the tension through my body, the head moves almost spontaneously. Long years of computer research and poor posture might have caused some body issues here, but wondering if anyone has any experience on this topic.

Like automatically flipping ie turning to one side - quite quickly
It's almost always to the same side and there's a lot of tension through or in the neck area.. :(

Maybe some yoga asanas or chi gong practice could be helpful against the tensions?
I know these kinds of movement during meditation as a phase. It is coming for a beginner and it is going when the topic is finished.
Tensions in the body relate to mental issues also, in my experience. But one can resolve it also with physical exercises.

I'm in the same boat as you! Though the movements my neck does can be simple or complicated. It can just be one jerk to the left, or it can be up to 30 seconds of weird bobblehead shit. :shrug:

Even if repeated 'into' the longterm tension seems hard to release :(
