Note that, in the higher tantras, there is talk of a self and an I, even though in the lower teachings the absence of self and the absence of I is what is always proclaimed. - Tony Duff
If we have to have a soul, it might as well be vidya, it is after all, permanent, unconditioned, a knower, stainless, and free from the three realms. But If we don't have to have one, vidya still has these characteristics. It is our essenceless essence. - A certain Gemini
To educate the educated is notoriously difficult. - Jacques Barzun

Nice word.

My new favorite is "katzenjammer".
1 : hangover
2 : distress 2
3 : a discordant clamor
Examples
traffic was all tied up, the kids were fighting, and in the midst of all this katzenjammer, the phone rang
Origin: German, from Katze cat + Jammer distress.
A human being has his limits. And thus, in every conceivable way, with every possible means, he tries to make the teaching enter into his own limits. ChNN

There's a cartoon strip called the katzenjammer kids.

  • All activities are like the games children play. If started, they can never be finished. They are only completed once you let them be, like castles made of sand. --Khenpo Nyoshul Rinpoche

I always liked 'spielfest' (with the 's' pronounced as 'sh'). An alternative name for a sales conference or political summit. I coined it myself, to my dismay it still hasn't become part of the language, so I will continue to throw it out from time to time.
