Japan disaster zone.

I was in Rikuzentakata in northern Japan for a few days helping with relief efforts. This was my first time in a disaster zone. Here are a few photos I took:











The town was basically erased in a few minutes when the tsunami hit. Last month the death toll was at 1211 and 1183 unaccounted for. It wasn't just the coastal area that was damaged, but rice paddies and greenhouses several kilometres inland were wiped away.

It gave me something to consider when reflecting on impermanence.
