Magic Words

Postby Zealot » Mon Nov 19, 2012 4:56 pm

Intelligence is a marvelous thing. Those of us with a mind less than dull are blessed because of the ease at which we see and take in knowledge. It is so fluid and magnificent that one can almost see that as a purpose in life; to learn all that one can with the time allotted. Though for all its beauties, it, too, is in intoxicant; Intelligence can easily lead us to indulgence, sloth, aversion, pride, and even paradoxically ignorance. We get lost in our own little world where we can quantify everything and nothing is as important as that knowledge.

But what about when the time comes to act? Do any of these thoughts, these gems, these constructs of illusion help this body? It seems there is a disconnect. The monkey mind doesn't care about your ideals, it wants. Even in understanding the drives and desires of the body, one is troubled with how to control them. Sometimes the mind just wont stop, and all these thoughts rolling through do nothing to help. Other times it comes to a screeching halt when confronted with the daunting aspect of reality.

And thus arrives these magic words: For the ones who lacks discipline and cannot just be in control, "Make it so." For the ones who hold onto control with every fiber of their being, "Let it be so."

Nothing could be more simple.

So sayeth Zealot.

"When one is not in accord with the true view
Meditation and conduct become delusion,
One will not attain the real result
One will be like a blind man who has no eyes."

So sayeth- I love King James Bible English
In order to ensure my mind never comes under the power of the self-cherishing attitude,
I must obtain control over my own mind.
Therefore, amongst all empowerments, the empowerment that gives me control over my mind is the best,
and I have received the most profound empowerment with this teaching.

Ah, Goa. A happy time. A place where truths are as simple as the breeze through the palm trees.

There may be preference of complex truths or preference of simple truths but preferences do not depend on locations. The preferences depend on consciousnesses cultivating themselves and so do all truths. :sage:
