Sūtra Studies to Scripture Studies

Postby Zhen Li » Sun Feb 02, 2014 10:35 pm

My suggestion is to expand the name of the Sūtra Studies to Scripture Studies, so that the scope for discussing texts can include stuff from the Tripitaka in general, and Shastras.

If folks don't like the term Scripture then maybe Texts, Tripitaka and Shastra, or some other variation thereof.

The subtitle makes clear that any buddhadharma text is fine.

Sūtra Studies
Discuss and learn about the traditional scriptures.
Every time you recite Amita Buddha’s name, a ray of light shines through empty space. If you recite very sincerely, then this light fills up the universe, so that the energy of all worlds will be auspicious and harmonious.

Yes, but just to clarify what is considered "the traditional scriptures."

If the mods identify a problem arising from some text posted here - then is the time to worry.
