Video of a conversation between His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the great American Zen monk, Hyon Gak Sunim, one of the foremost Western teachers of Zen today. The conversation happened in Japan in November 2012. (Some of the questions are not Sunim's -- he was obligated to insert a few questions for some Korean newspapers reporters who attended.)

Hyon Gak Sunim graduated from Yale and Harvard, and has been a monk since 1992.
He received "inka" from Zen Master Seung Sahn directly in a public ceremony in Seoul, Korea, in August 2001.
He is now a wandering teacher, based (mostly) in Europe. Follow him on Facebook, Tumblr, and at http://www.cloudpath.de
