Just saying hello :)

Just saying hello :)

Postby criggster » Sat Feb 25, 2012 2:15 am

Hello,

My name is Chris and I am from Calgary Alberta in Canada. I am working towards a degree in Actuarial Sciences from the University of Calgary, and I am employed part time at Petland where I help take care of the animals and sell pet supplies.

I have had an interest in Buddhism since I was a teenager, but I haven't been practicing very much until just recently. I have spent the last couple of years of my life in turbulent and unsatisfying relationships and have been struggling with my school. I hope to find the answers to some of my questions here so I can become a better meditator and improve relationships with my friends and family.

Thanks

Hi Chris,

Welcome to DharmaWheel.

Once on a visit to Calgary I practiced with a Karma Kagyu group there that I found just delightful. If you're interested I'll try to find the link for the center...

Thank you for the reply :) and that would be wonderful, I don't know of any meditation groups in my city and I am not really sure where to begin looking.

Sure, no problem.

Marpa Gonpa is highly recommended. I'm sure if you asked, you'd get other useful recommendations too. Calgary's a lovely city, by the way.
