Greetings

Hello, I'm glad I found this wonderful place.
I believe the members here will help me on my path to understanding and learning more about Buddhism.
I'm still a very "young" Buddhist who is 41 years old
I have for many years found the teachings of The Buddha very uplifting and they bring such peace to my spirit.
I'm a recovering alcoholic, and the practice of meditation truly eases my spirit and calms my mind.
I have attended a Zen Buddhist Temple in my area, and truly enjoy the experience to say the least.
Problem is it's an hour and a half away, so regular attendance isn't really an option.
But I have many books, and now a great online place to learn from.
I meditate every morning, and if time permits, a couple more times a day. Sitting that is.
I have a book with prayers for before and after meditation, so my quest for enlightenment is helped by these which help me free myself from negative karma and purify my mind.

I hope to get help and help others on our paths to enlightenment.

Kind Wishes, The Seeker :meditate:

Everyday problems teach us to have a realistic attitude.
They teach us that life is what life is; flawed.
Yet with tremendous potential for joy and fulfillment.

If your path teaches you to act and exert yourself correctly and leads to spiritual realizations such as love, compassion and wisdom then obviously it's worthwhile.

One whose mind is freed does not argue with anyone, he does not dispute with anyone. He makes use of the conventional terms of the world without clinging to them

Hi there, and welcome. Do you post on the other major Buddhist boards? Your name rings a bell.
