Hello

Post by edearl »

Neophyte--ignorant of Buddhist literature, terms, and practices, but eager to learn.

Married since 1984, two children and four grandchildren.

Retired

Homebound--this forum is my Buddhist community.

Reared fundamentalist Christian, rejected religion about age 15 as not real, and became agnostic tending toward atheism.

BS Electrical Engineering

Worked as a computer programmer for many years.

Just read, "Introduction: Buddhism and Science—Breaking Down the Barriers," by B. Alan Wallace and experienced epiphanies.
HHDL: "My confidence in venturing into science lies in my basic belief that as in science so in Buddhism, understanding the nature of reality is pursued by means of critical investigation: if scientific analysis were conclusively to demonstrate certain claims in Buddhism to be false, then we must accept the findings of science and abandon those claims."
