I draw from several traditions - I was introduced to Buddhism through personal contact with Buddhist poets Allen Ginsberg and Gary Snyder. I later began a meditation practice in the manner of Jon Kabat Zinn. It was very life-changing and I immediately sought out ways to practice 24/7 and to keep in contact with others, vis a vis, the sangha. I've been in and out of several groups of Thich Nhats Hanh's followers in Kansas City, Eugene, and Annapolis and Fairfax, Va. My interest in Buddhism informs my meditation and mindfulness practice, as does my life-long identification with the Unitarian Universalist Association as well an interest in Christian teachings. I am ordained into the Lam Te Dhyana as of 2001. Politically I tend to be a West Coast Pacifist/Anarchist, yet holding that people should organize their own cooperative economic systems to respond to toxic consumerism.
