I am a French nyingmapa practitionner living in Abu Dhabi. Happy to join dharmawheel. If anybody knows about buddhists in Abu Dhabi or UAE, let me know. Thank you
Welcome Dorje Samten! I hope you find what you are looking for!
"Meditation is familiarisation with realisation" Jigten Sumgon Gonchig: The Single Intent, the Sacred Dharma "Oh great bodhisattva, you ought to understand the quintessence in this way: Whatever appears is one in its suchness. It cannot be falsified by anyone. The sovereign of unconceptualised sameness dwells in the spirit of the Dharmakaya which cannot be cognised." The All Creating Sovereign, Mind of Perfect Purity.
No, absolutly no. I ´d just like to meet other buddhists and maybe a sangha. Concerning my practice, i meet regularly my master when I come back to Paris and I receive weekly his teaching through skype.
Welcome to Dharma Wheel! I heard there were quite a few Buddhists there during the better economic times when the UAE was constructing many skyscrapers all over. Many of the workers came from Sri Lanka so for a time the "percentage" of Buddhists in UAE was over 5% which is quite high for a Muslim nation. Now the numbers are probably much lower, though.
Most of the workers are coming from India or Pakistan, christians or muslims. What I am loking for is maybe a small community or individuals practicing buddhism. I hope somebody living in Abu Dhabi will read this!
