Jesus did not teach Dependent Origination, the central teaching which ties every level of Buddhism from Theravada to Dzogchen.
Thus he does not have any connection to Buddhism.
Lastly, I don't recall any truly omniscient / divine master such as Jigme Lingpa mentioning Jesus.

Re: and again ... Jesus is a bodhisattva
Jesus may exist, but he would be dependently originated, and thus not really the Creator.
Re: Thoughts
It wasn't anything personal against you.
Its just that you ALL seem so confused.
For myself, it is pretty simple. I live by whats in my signature.

Let the body go to sleep.
The mind can stay awake.
It is a novel state.

Re: What was the first sutra you ever read ?
The base meaning of the sutras is :
Everything exists as thoughtforms (appearances) merely designated upon causes and conditions. This applies to yourself, the Buddhas, the causes and conditions themselves, and even the principle of causality itself.

Re: What was the first sutra you ever read ?
Enochian - there are a lot of layers to this sutra. The Madhyamaka aspect is just one of them. I wouldn't dismiss it so lightly. I am not dismissing the Heart Sutra. The true bottom line meaning has already been extracted by Madhyamaka. Thus no need to read it........Study Madhyamaka instead.

Re: What was the first sutra you ever read ?
I don't get this thread. Why do you need to read sutras, when Mādhyamaka (or if you must Yogacara philosophy) extracted the essence of the Sutras for you? I feel sad for you guys who are trying to extract meaning out of the Heart Sutra, when its already been done by Nagarjuna, more than a millennium...

I don't get how samadhi actually becomes mastered. If the mind is merely a wind, kumbhaka seems the better way to go.
Mastering samadhi seems like trying to capture water in a seive.

I thought samadhi was garbage and it was all about working with the channels and chakras, although I am sure the two can be done at one time.

Re: Reincarnation: A gift or a curse?
Yes but according to every level of buddhism, you need to have something called the divya caksus to have PERSONAL EXPERIENCE with rebirth. Not necessarily. With sufficient mastery of dhyāna one will recollect past lives. The divya caksus IS used from within dhyāna, the fourth dhyāna to be exact. My...

One does not have to believe in rebirth in order to follow the teachings of the dharma. There is no point in following Buddhadharma if you do not accept rebirth. Re: Signature in the Cell by Stephen Meyer
The problem is that Intelligent Design is something designed by Christian liars to force Creationism on America. This is established fact at both the scientific and legal levels. If Meyers really had something novel to say, he shouldn't have used such a contaminated phrase like "intelligent Des...

Re: Signature in the Cell by Stephen Meyer
Well if you all watch the PBS documentary I cited earlier, it is very clear that Intelligent Design is nothing more than a shell game by Christians.
Judge Jones specifically said in his decision that "the designer postulated by their argument is the God of Christianity."
