Re: Ven. Ananda Bodhi/Karma tenzin Dorje Namgyal

I would like to hear more about this Rinpoche. I have not heard of him before, but did a google search and it seems like he was a legitimate teacher, a Tulku in fact, of western decent who lived his life spreading the dharma?

Re: Kalu Rinpoche: Panned in San Francisco

Well I think we should not let our common sense go askew in this situation.
It seems fairly clear, at least from my diluted viewpoint that the interview was allowed to be posted to express disappointment with the current situation.
Much more than this who knows.....

Re: Prostrations= Punishment?

Awful lot of judgement floating around this thread. Interesting how one opinionated comment from a foolish, old, arthritic man can unleash such a series of comments, concerns, accusations. (Mangus).

Bodhisattvas know no bounds, covet no traditions and relinquish the antidote.

Peace.

Re: Prostrations= Punishment?

Uncle....jesus. I still stand by my initial assertion. Its a fact that prostrations were handed down as a form of punishment in Tibet. Why was that? Because they are painful. You really cannot refute this fact. Do you think its just a coincidence that prostrations became a standard form of corporal ...

Re: Prostrations= Punishment?

Yeah....I guess maybe I wasn't clear in my initial post. All I am saying is that prostrations are physically punishing, and as such over the years in Tibet, they did become a form of corporal punishment. You can't really dispute either of these facts. Further, you could hardly find a person who has ...

Prostrations= Punishment?

Hey Y'all, I have done my Ngondro, and have done many prostrations in the completion of the practice, and in association with other practices. I have to say that while the practice of prostrations are a good way to work out, they are in fact punishing to the body, and at times just plain sucked. In ...

Re: I am the director of the documentary TULKU. Ask me anything.

I guess the only thing I dont understand is this.....if you renounce your recognition, and then go an make a movie about it....have you really renounced it?
I mean, either you accept it and spread the tradition, or don't and live the life of any other person on this world.....

Re: I am the director of the documentary TULKU. Ask me anything.

Hello some of you may know me others may not.. I was recognized as a tulku when I was three years old in Berkley California, my father is Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche so I was exposed to quite a few teachers and craziness as a child. I directed a documentary called Tulku which examines the phenomena of...

Re: 10 Questions for His Holiness Sakya Trizin

... after the Dalai Lama, the throne holder of Sakya is the next senior figure. Well this isn't exactly true. In the Central TIbetan political system pre-1959, the Panchen Lama was the closest in succession to retaining the political role of the executive of the central TIbetan Government. This bei...

I ain't gonna quit it. We all got arbitrary lines in our practice and this is one for me.
Of course when engaged in Kriya tantra practices, I don't eat it, but otherwise....i am all over it.

The rumor is he just left his monastery at midnight, unannounced, with no plans and no possessions.
