Levitation via Buddhist meditation

Apparently this guy is a Buddhist and has developed the ability to levitate over decades of meditation and energy body practices. I've only studied Theravada Buddhism - is there any kind of "energy body" system in any of the other Buddhist sects because I haven't heard of it in Theravada. ...

Audio to aid and deepen meditation

This thread is dedicated to sharing meditation music, particularly the meditation music that I am personally producing. Every track is embedded with binaural beats and/or isochronic tones, which alter your brainwaves to achieve deep meditative states with ease. I have been meditating for nearly two ...

Re: Meditation and your breath

Hey Rope I had this problem when I first began breath meditation. It took a little over a month of daily practice until the habit dropped. It wasn't really a gradual cessation of the habit, but it was more like an insight that suddenly came to me one session that allowed me to relinquish control of ...

Re: Phowa

Sherab, thanks for the references!

Regarding the idea that Pureland isn't a construction born of delusion: Perhaps it is not, but this cannot be truly known until one experiences the undeluded reality of Pureland firsthand. Otherwise it's just a belief.

Re: Phowa

By indulging in the fantastic constructions of deluded mind? Do you have a teacher Vince? Is Pureland not a fantastic construction of a deluded mind? If your response is no, how do you know it isn't? I am my own teacher. Buddhism isn't too big in my part of Brazil so my options in this department a...

Re: Phowa

It's got nothing to do with dropping in for a short visit, to our favorite deity, in order to pleasantly pass away our time . I understand what Phowa is and the purpose of it. That's why I asked if there was another practice or teaching of projection into these higher realms. Obviously the purpose ...

Dream Yoga

I'm curious to hear if anyone has any experience with Tibetan Dream Yoga practice. It seems to me to be a logical and integral part of the path to liberation, almost like the last chance one has to free oneself from samsara if one has not reached this goal through any of the other practices by the t...

Re: Phowa

To transfer the consciousness out of the body prematurely is equivalent to suicide I think it's important to differentiate temporary transference/ejection of consciousness from permanent projection from the body(death). Are there any Buddhist practices for inducing out of body experiences into the ...

Re: Tibetan Dream Yoga

...many Buddhist practitioners seem to believe that the essence of the nature and purpose of these nighttime dream yoga/lucid dreaming experiences is contradictory to the Dhamma. Interesting, where did you encounter these practitioners? It seems to be somewhat common consensus among the Theravada B...

Tibetan Dream Yoga

Does anyone practice or have any experience with Tibetan dream yoga? Being an avid lucid dreamer, I was naturally drawn to this practice. Aside from the daytime practice of perceiving one's daily life as illusory, it actually puts a whole new spin on lucid dreaming practice, as the motivation for th...
