Re: Is dzogchen independent from Vajrayna?

Re: Is dzogchen independent from Vajrayna?

Vajrayana means taking the fruit as the path. So yes, according to my view, Dzogchen is part of Vajrayana. Also in the Dzogchen-Tantras there are many references to the other 8 yanas.

Could someone please clarify the schedule?
On the Wisdom page it says that the lung starts on the afternoon on Friday, while the Zoom-Invitation says that all sessions start in morning.

Dear Old Bob,

many of us can do various things, of this I have no doubt.
Question is, how to do it in a way that many people have benefit from it.

I always appreaciate your posts from the bottom of my heart.

I think it comes from translating "Dzogrim" as "Vollendungsstufe" and Kyerim as "Erzeugungsstufe". So "Dzog" is translated as "Vollendung", thus Dzogchen (Santi Maha) is translated as "Grosse Vollendung". Since "Maha" means "...

:good: People don't seem to understand that when conferring an empowerment, the Guru transmits a method to the student. If the student is not realised during the empowerment, he or she should follow that method afterwards, because otherwise, there is not much sense in giving and receiving the empowe...

If you are a bodhisattva, practice the inner tantras (or anuttarayoga) and have developed a certain capability of doing inner and outer things, you will use your skills naturally when the circumstances demand it. And you will do it without making a big fuss about it. There really is no need to specu...

Buddhism is the only religion I ever had, thanks to my parents. Thank you very much for your answer. You really described the ambiguity of Alzheimer. My step-grandmother had Alzheimer and my wife and me visted her often. To the OP: Lama Henrik Havlat did a few very good translations together with his then consort Lama Waltraud. They translated directly from tibetan into german. Dear community, what is the view of Alzheimer's Disease regarding Sutra (and maybe also Tibetan Medicin)? My understanding is that the brain is damaged and so the skandha of consciosness (विज्ञान vijñāna) is in a way out of order. What are the karmic causes of this damage and how does it affect the ...
