Re: Unknown Tibetan character
Good morning! Thanks for your help. This is what I managed to do and looked like the same final script, but it didn't match with the expected sound that I hear from the mantra it is extracted from, which sounds "kayo" or "keyo". The reverse sha letter is indeed pronounced "...

Re: Unknown Tibetan character
Hello, I found a Tibetan character, 'khayo' according to some transliterations. But I am not able to reproduce it in Lexilogos Tibetan keyboard. Does someone knows about it's correct construction? Many thanks On a Mac you type the reverse sha + the subscribed ya + the vowel naro. So you have ཥ + ྱ ...

Re: General set of practices during dzogchen-based dark retreats?
He has given DI in the past and occasionally taught the Dzogchen Training elaborated by Yongdzin Rinpoche but that was 2 decades ago. Now he does not teach anymore. Too disappointed with his students? Not really, rather too busy with academic duties and using his free time for strict retreats.

Re: General set of practices during dzogchen-based dark retreats?
I think that trusted translator and excellent practitioner, JLA, has or had, a for-fee Yangti club. No, it was not for-fee (for whatever that means): the only demand he had was to have a letter (in tibetan) from the master who gave you the transmission if you wanted to get the booklets. There was n...

Re: Lung oral transmission
I hope ye guys will not jump at my throat because I raise the following questions... Please bear with me, I’m just trying to understand the situation which is quite opaque to me. I’d be really interested in having clear answers (although I understand the subject is a total mess, at least for me...) ...

Re: Translations of Longchenpa's Tsig Don Dzod
No other translation at this point, however "Buddhahood in this life" a commentary by Vimalamitra from the Gonpa Zangtal translated by Malcolm Smith covers the same 11 points as the Tsig Don Dzod. David Germano's 1992 PhD translates the first five chapters of the Tsigdön Dzö, together wit...

Hey y’all, Wondering if anyone has a list of the contents of the Khandro sangwa kundu? English is preferred, but Tibetan is also cool. Thanks Browse the page down to "Outline": https://library.bdrc.io/show/bdr:MW23175?s=q%3D%2522mkha%2527%2520%2527gro%2520gsang%2520ba%2520kun%2520%2527dus...

Re: Dzogchen and thoughts
It's not my "reasoning". In response to your question, I'm sharing what Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche said he had been told by Dudjom Rinpoche. You can read it yourself on page 16 of the book as it is, Vol.1. Second hand unverifiable statement does not necessarily mean it's true. Try again.

Re: Dzogchen and thoughts
According to Dudjom Rinpoche, Tulku Urgyen; all four visions. Sorry, but no. Dudjom Rinpoche passed away in 1987. He had no knowledge that Tulku Urgyen would pass away in 1996. Rainbow body manifests at the end of the lifetime. Realization may (and surely) occur before that but that Body is a sign ...

Re: Dzogchen and thoughts
Yes, that can happen. Well, you have no way of knowing that. The issue with "not getting it" is because these individuals expect something else (like this magic telepathic transmission which does not occur). They are unable to understand the directness and total, utter simplicity of the k...

Re: Dzogchen and thoughts
The lama is not transmitting a state beyond words. The lama gives the means for us to understand the state beyond words for ourselves through words and symbols. Since we already have this state, the lama does not give it to us. They only point at it, but it is up to us to follow the pointing finger...

Re: Dzogchen and thoughts
What depends on the master is his capacity to convey that knowledge clearly. Yes, the Lama needs to have the "power" or "capacity" to give the direct transmission that does not rely on words. It is the knowledge of the natural state that he has that enables him to explain the di...

Re: Dzogchen and thoughts
It is not a bad idea to repeat that quote again: Khenchen Namdrol Rinpoche is quite clear that introduction to the basis and its wisdoms is done through words and meanings, not some magical or psychic connection. This is particularly important in view of the first sentences that Jules wrongly attrib...

Re: Dzogchen and thoughts
As usual, you do not understand what you quote, so it's not a surprise you keep on being wrong about it. The subject of the whole paragraph you manipulated is the gsang ba bla na med pa'i skor, the secret unsurpassable cycle.

And in the Tsigdon Dzo, he says: "As it does not rely on words, it does not depend on (intellectual wisdoms). As it realizes the nature directly, it does not dwell in the view of mental analysis... But here (the ultimate nature) is perceived as the object of the direct sense through the power ...
