Re: Recognising reincarnations
It is possible to recognize the samsaric quality of the Tulku system, (or terma discovery and terton recognition, for that matter) without completely discounting the system, the potential "truth" of Tulku phenomena, or even one's own recognition. That's my point. It's an analysis that is ...

Guru Yoga sadhana of the 14th Shamarpa
Here you can read the Guru Yoga of the Shamarpa, Mipham Chokyi Lodro. It has been translated only after his death and i think it has never been practiced by his western disciples. Nice to read also the comment of HH 16th Karmapa Rigpe Dorje, who requested this sadhana. I wonder if there also also Gu...

Re: Forceful conversion of Druka monasteries in Karma Kagyu
I agree with you concerning the Karmapas. But I don't think chinese are the cause of all the problems of Vajrayana Buddhism, Sherab Gyaltsen. Quite the contrary. I can't believe that no "high" karma kagyu Rinpoche has been informed that they got a new monastery all of a sudden. You are qu...

Re: Forceful conversion of Druka monasteries in Karma Kagyu
Other three posts by Gyalwang Drukpa from his facebook page: 1) Historically the Drukpa Lineage and the Karma Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism have shared a deep and close spiritual bond. The Gyalwang Drukpas and Gyalwa Karmapas were known as Gyalwa Kar-Druk Yab-sey or “spiritual father and son” be...

Forceful conversion of Drukpa monasteries to Karma Kagyu
Letter by HH Gyalwa Drukpa, from his facebook page. Interesting, isn't it? 10th September 2014 Over the last few days I have been receiving disturbing information from Tibet regarding the forced conversion of Drukpa Lineage monasteries in the Mount Kailash region by the Karma Kagyu Lineage. My follo...

Drukpa Kunley reincarnation?
Does someone know if there are recognized tulku of Drukpa Kunley?
I've heard that a couple of them have been recognized in Bhutan, but they did not live long life. Is this lineage continuing or not?
Thanks

Re: Hanuman in Vajrayana
Probably there are different views. According to the information I have, vedic mantras does not require any transmission. Actually, I don't even think that the concept of transmission or initiation is contemplated from a vedic point of view. It is a tantric, or esoteric idea. Instead, there are vedi...

Re: Ganesh in Tibetan Buddhism
There must be a slight difference in lineage. I received through the Sakyapa school where it is a major wealth practice. Sure, I received it through Shangpa lineage. Anyway, it still doesn't make much sense to me. Concerning the Ganapati mantra from the Sutra citated above, then, is it used to prot...

Re: Hanuman in Vajrayana
As far I know, there are a few secret mantras practiced in tantric sadhanas, but the common hindu mantras don't require any transmission. It is very, very different from Vajrayana. Actually, it is also possibile to perform homa (fire puja) to hindu gods without any initiations. You can even find ins...

Re: Ganesh in Tibetan Buddhism
In general, in the White Mahākala sadhana of Shangpa there is only one Ganapati. In the sadhana I have there are two Tso Daks. Also in the pictures one can find online one usually sees two Tso Daks. That's why I was confused and thought that Tso Dak was not exactly Ganesh, but something like a clas...

Re: Ganesh in Tibetan Buddhism
Is there a similar sadhana in other lineages (ex. Shangpa) where one takes the form of Gonkar/White Mahakala while commanding Ganapati? I'm asking this questions because of a dream i had last night. Tshogs bdag is Tibetan for Ganapati. If they are exactly the same thing, why in the sadhana of Gonkar...
