Re: Is there anyone home?

Just to let everyone know I wasn't suggesting a substrate of an ultimate. I posted a great article about rigpa and awareness and what it is and how it is viewed through different schools of Tibetan Buddhism. The article goes into the questions of the OP :anjali:

Re: Is there anyone home?

Is there a Buddhist equivalent of Awareness as the ultimate substrate of reality? I didn't think there was. Then I spoke with a Tibetan Buddhist friend who smiled when I asked him and said: Oh yes, everything is Awareness. From my limited study in Tibetan Buddhism Rigpa came to mind. http://www.ber...

Re: Is there anyone home?

I was told some questions about self Buddha remained silent. If I remember my teacher told me what's important is letting go of the 3 poisons and when you are free and clear of suffering you will be able to answer those questions yourself. A blanket denial of the self therefore has no basis in scrip...

PeterC,

Thank you for sharing, your post answered some of my questions. I'm up in the woods and hardly see anyone including my sangha and teachers. I felt kind of guilty about this but it's so nice being away from everyone and hanging out with nature :namaste:

Re: An Unfortunately neglected Introduction.

Nice to meet you Leo thank you for sharing your story. Seems a lot of the old timers I meet online are struggling to find a place to hang their Dharma coat. I struggle with a lot of what you wrote about as well, I think it's part of getting older. I think people are always willing to blame others fo...

Re: the most surprising thing you got from Buddhism?

What is the most surprising thing you have gotten from practicing Buddhism? For me, it's beer! lol For me when I was with a Sangha, wine! Seriously, my relationship with myself and my husband has improved but also with my children. They are grown now and have kids of their own and I can help out wh...

Re: Where does I end and not-I begin?

It's all about the mind moments and the sense doors consciousness. It was explained to me that this is a constant stream of moments. Falling into a habit is much like walking a path that has been walked on over and over again until the path becomes a deep rut. There are methods of getting out of the...

I see life as a dream...When you notice something unusual just sit back and see what happens. Stay aware and alert....You never know what form the Bodhisattva will take. I mean anything could be a Bodhisattva :jawdrop: An English Nursery Rhyme: Row, row, row your boat, Gently down the stream. Merril...

Re: help me understand pls?

Sometimes a bad Dharma experience or a negative experience with a Dharma student or teacher can be turned into a Dharma lesson that will pop you up to another level of awareness. This is how I look at everything in my life. It's really helped me move past trauma and negative feelings. :namaste:

I love all things off world alien or alternative universe beings...I think the government is getting ready to say we've been invaded by an off world race and we must come together as a human race to fight them off. ...can one Supreme Buddha see another Supreme Buddha if they ever met ? Yes, reddust, in various Sutras and its descriptions, one can read on it. They can also 'spot' each other from worlds away from each other with Their abilities. For instance, in the Threefold Sukhavati Sutras, Amitabha Buddha m...

Re: why is Vajrayana considered the fasted way to buddhahood

I have a book that goes into Arhat and Bodhisattva/Bodhisatta that compares the systems and attainments. I think I remember reading about the differences of an Arhat and the Bhumis of a Bodhisattva. I think the books by Dutt, but I have to go find it. Would you be interested in the data if I can fin...

I remember reading somewhere here on this site that only sentient beings can see a Buddha because of their delusional state. So a Buddha isn't delusional --- but...
