Re: anyone need Longchen Nyingthig Palchen dupa text
Hi. I recently received the wang and lung for Palchen Dupa from Ngakchang Jigme Namgyal Rinpoche. I would love to have the daily sadhana if it is available in English translation/transliteration. Thank you!

The Spontaneous Vajra Song of Fulfilment and Confession
Hi all. I am searching for an English translation/transliteration of the 'The Spontaneous Vajra Song of Fulfilment and Confession' (Tib. སྐོང་བཤགས་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ཐོལ་གླུ་, Kongshak Dorjé Tollu; Wyl. skong bshags rdo rje'i thol glu) — a prayer of fulfilment and confession from the Longchen Nyingtik cycle,...

Re: Entry into gcod
Cool. A great opportunity for everyone able to watch/listen in. I understand there is no specific wang for the khando'i gejung so it would be interesting to see what form such a transmission usually takes and how Rinpoche does it. Sorry, I know it is a very old thread but I specifically want to cla...

The sorcerer who taught Milarepa
Hi all. It is mentioned in HH Dudjom Rinpoche's book "The Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism" that the sorcerer who taught wrathful mantras to Milarepa prior to his awakening was named Lharje Hūṃcung, a successor of Nup's lineage. Are there some other sources where I can read more about th...

Re: Visit to India (Advice?)
Thank you khechara that looks beautiful, and it's a cheap option  Yeah, moreover, you will be overwhelmed with the scenic beauty around the place. It is a stark contrast with the filthy environs of the main market. The place used to be much better before but tourism is kinda ruining it my op...

That's the monastery. http://www.holidayiq.com/images/attractions/Dip_Tse_Chok_Ling_Gompa_McLeodganj_9682.jpg The staircase that connects the monastery to the main market. Re: Visit to India (Advice?)
I apologise if this is in the wrong place  I'm planning on going to India in late September or early October and I've just got a few questions: 1) I'm going to Bylakuppe (visiting Sera Jey as with my ordination plans), I'm applying for my pap now but I'm wondering if anyone has any experienc...

Re: Indian Vajrayana
You're welcome! Unfortunately I'm pretty sure Templeton's dissertation is unpublished and not easy to get. I also remember Malcolm commented at one point, I think on esangha (I can't find the thread), Chris Fynn, a number of years ago, wrote that his teacher, Kunnu Lama, had met some externally Hin...

Re: "Free of ritual" & expectations on Buddhist practice
And certainly in Western societies there is this religious association concerning the giving up of personal spiritual authority to either an institution or a godhead - which leads an awful lot of Christians (for instance, and in my personal experience) to conclude that Buddhists are praying for int...

Re: Indian Vajrayana
Yes, that is an interesting article. I wish I could get my hands on his dissertation (“Becoming Indian: A Study of the Life of the 16th–17th Century Tibetan Lama Tāranātha.” PhD diss., Monash University, 2008). There is also some interesting discussion of late Indian Vajrayana in the nath community...

Re: Indian Vajrayana
It is instructive to look at the situation with Buddhaguptanatha, who appears to have held genuine Buddhist lineages within a syncretic Nath milieu as late as c.1600 CE. I could see them being continued to this day, although in a form so syncretic as to be unrecognizable at Buddhist. Even the Kalac...

Re: Indian Vajrayana
I questioned him on the inner meanings of Mahamudra. He'd never heard of them. I also looked to him based on this same theory you have, but it's a waste of time. He thinks GR held all these Samkhya ideas too. That he was an Avadhuta. They have some screwy ideas about karma; these ideas can totally ...

Re: Indian Vajrayana
There' are no Indian yogis who don't adhere to Samkhya and the Vedas or Puranas. I used to think like you. But there is nothing resembling Buddhist Vajrayana among Indians. It is amazing to me how thoroughly this was wiped out. The sheer force of the Samkhyas has been unstoppable. Btw. When I say H...

Everything, lol! I was attracted to it because both Saktas and Buddhists revere the Vajrayogini temple and it made me think how both these religious systems mix in Nepal.pemachophel wrote:Yes, I visited Sankhu two years ago at just this time of year. What d'ya want to know about it?
