Re: Kurukulle from the Hevajra tantra saddhana

Here's one: http://www.buddhavisions.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Red-Kurukulle-Sadhana-by-Rigdzin-Chokyi-Dragpa.pdf It comes through the Drikung lineage, but the Drikungpas' lineage of this deity comes from Sakya, and ultimately originates from the same source -- the master Sahajavilāsa's sadhan...

Re: Air travel with a khanglng

Find a resin kangling. There are also metal ones. As per Machik's instructions, as long as it is not made from bone or wood, it can be used. If you have a real human-bone kangling, do not risk losing it to customs. Source?!? Machik touches on it on her full commentary. Ask your teacher about it, as...

Kurukulle from the Hevajra tantra saddhana

So, I have been practicing this one quite a lot in the context of the `13 golden dharmas`. In the occasion of the empowerment we were given the English version of this saddhana. Though I've been given complete instructions for the saddhana and the full English text, I'd like to know if any version w...

Bad days to practice Mahamudra Chod

I've been taught (by KTD affiliated lama) that one should not practice the Mahamudra Chod (Karmapa Short Sadhana) during the full moon (and new moon, I believe) Sunday. The rest of the days of these weeks are fine, of course, but not the exact Sunday these moons arise. Anyone knows more about this? ...

Re: Joint long life prayer for Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche’s reincarnation by Ogyen Trinley Dorje and Trinley Thaye Dorje

Glad they have been talking. I find it hard the wounds could be completely healed in the short term future, but reuniting the lineage by recognizing the same Sharmapa would be a sane step. Maybe if he takes teachings and is recognized by both Karmapas, or gets tutored and empowered from a neutral te...

Re: Drukpa Order or Drukpa Kagyu

The Drugpa head is angry at some Karma Kagyupas in Tibet who took over Drugpa monasteries so he changed the name. That did not happen and the Drukpa have no head. Despite the Gyalwang Drukpa trying to force himself as the head of all Drukpa, they are actually split into three sub-schools, with each...

Re: Minor health issues due to meditation and tantric practi

About tantra, you need to talk to the guru about your specific experiences. But, talking about experiences in general, specifically about shamata/vypassyana, which is less troublesome to speak about, in tibetan there is a term, 'nyam', to refer to meditation experiences. They can be either positive ...

Re: Khenpo

You should ask directly the monastery http://www.khamgardrukcollege.org/drukp ... chool.html
The gyalwang Drukpa is NOT the supreme leader of the Drukpa sect and his office will either contact the monastery for an answer or tell you to do that.

Re: Anarchist Buddhist teachers, present and past?

Buddhism has nothing to do with politics. Someone on the path of a bodhisatva will usually engage in politics only in the measure necessary to fulfill their vows and aid other beings. But there's no use in trying to marry buddhism to any ideology. Attachment to ideology qualifies as one of the types...

Re: Riwo Sang Cho of Namkha Jigme

The original Riwo Sangchod is done in many different ways, with or without insertions. At Karma Kagyu, it is simpler than the Shangpa one, without the Guru Rinpoche visualization and without the offering to Mahakala Chagdrupa (probably because the Mahakala Bernakchen which is the main protector prac...

Re: Books about 13 Golden Dharmas?

The 13 golden dharmas do not necessarily require a 2-day empowerment, though it is often done that way. There is a Vajrapani Buthadhamara empowerment (from Hevajra tantra if I'm not mistaken) which can be done in one day and which will fulfill the requirements. Also, the reason why there is no book...

An ethnically tibetan master may not understand a diagnosis of ADHD. But when you talk on simpler terms like difficulty to concentrate and so on he will probably be able to understand. My personal approach has been to take small steps. What I can help with is to tell you that there there is strong s...

Re: Lying because you're stuck, but still for your own benef

Also, these situations help us see why many people either become monks, or, if they're yogis, go to some cave far away from civilization. We are faced with circumstances which make it very hard, though not impossible, to completely avoid non-virtue. In this case I think the most important thing is t...
