Re: Awareness of awareness
ALL experience is subjective. Logic, reason, science, objectivity all occur within experience, that is to say, subjectively. The idea of an objective world, that is, a world outside of experience, is just a concept, which also occurs subjectively. No one can step outside of experience to see if exp...

@Malcolm The claim is that Buddha's are omniscient....so there for they are aware of _any illness_ for _any_ sentient being (Buddhist or non- Buddhist)......and they have the medication for any of these illnesses....? This has already been answered. Go back and contemplate the answers rather than j...

Every one, individually, has to get rid of his own ignorance ... because every one, individually, posses the nature of a buddha and has to found his own nature. No external buddha can do that for him. Vajrasattva can only help, teaches someone to found his own nature. Buddhas do only what have to be...

Re: Samaya in Vajrayāna
The general rule is simple ... if you want to keep a "pure" relation with an object, a book, a statue or what ever object related with your practice, you do not allow it to be shared with someone having not the capacity to keep it in a pure relation, by ignorance or "common opinions&q...

From whatI understand there isn't much difference between dzogchen and zen. The difference is that Dzogchen has teachings on lhundrup ... Which employ methods working with tantric anatomy: http://www.dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?p=218399#p218399 . Not at all ... Dzogchen is not workin with anythin...

Re: Would someone explain a bit about dzogchen meditation ba
If one realizes samsara without basis, it is the attainment of nirvana. If one realizes nirvana as merely nominal, it is the attainment of the primordial sphere. If you are free from efforts and transcend mind, it is the attainment of Dharmakaya. If you are in contemplation without thoughts, it is t...

Re: Dancing with Women in Buddhist Temple
why should tibetan way of dancing be acceptable/correct and not western way? Is it not some kind of sectarism? The body is moving, free ... is it not that the point? Certainly westerners have a lot to learn from Tibetans ... sometime Tibetans could also learn from westerners. Important is motivation...

Re: Question: Fundamentals of Buddhism
Buddhism is (also) something to be studied, not to receive quick answers to spasmodic questions ... and certainly not on a forum. Sönam I agree that practice is the most important. However, in the few days that I've been on here it seems like everyone knows a ton of stuff and I don't know anything....

Also, as I browse through the DW message boards, I am totally lost in a sea of esoteric terminology, so maybe some sort of breif overview on all the different traditions and stuff would be nice, because I'm not even sure what Mahayana and Theraveda mean, although I have heard the words used cou...

As far as Buddha's teaching is about cessation of suffering, it is the only dharma doing so ... and it cannot be compared to any other dharma. Doing so is a fallacy.

Re: Mixing Buddhist and non-Buddhist Practices?
I think a big part of the question comes down to whether or not one believes enlightenment manifests outside of Buddhist lineages or not. Maybe I need liberation from Buddha but love from Jesus. I suppose it comes down to what one considers "worldly gods." Enlightenment is a fantasy ... c...
