7 lines prayers

Hi, just wondering if anyone has done alot of the 7-lines prayers to Padmasambhava and had any experiences from it? I am also wondering if there is a tradition of doing large numbers of this prayers or even concentrating on it as one's main practice. If there are any benefits or teachings on this, p...

Re: Identify this character

I believe this is some sort of marker, and not actually "pronounced." The fact that it occurs on it's own, at the beginning of a couple lines, leads me to think it's some sort of "Tershay" or marker that is not read...it occurs at the beginning of the part of the text relating t...

Re: Identify this character

Thanks for all the replies. I uploaded the whole page online below. It is from the Gesar cycle of Mipham Gyatso. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-rRcoDjXYsAZVI3Y2RVZ0FTTk0/edit?usp=sharing So is this character simply pronounced 'Tam' or 'Kam'? If anyone has a definite answer, please let me know. T...

Re: FAQ: Dzogchen Community of Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche

Hi, i was attending the last webcast on Mandarava and noticed that Rinpoche used the Dadar in a particular way during the section on sealing the blessings after invoking long life blessings. I need to know whether it was clockwise or anti-clockwise and the particular sequences. Can someone who is fa...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Hi, I am looking for the Tibetan text for the Chod practice for Dzogchen Community. I find difficulties and inaccuracies for myself following the Drajyor system. I prefer reading Tibetan directly but the Chod booklet doesn't have the text in Tibetan. Can anyone PM me or direct me to find the Tibeta...

Re: Capacity for following Dzogchen

Don't get lost in the 'definitive meaning'. In the ultimate truth, there is no idea of whether there is or is not a Buddha. Clinging to a concept of there not being a Buddha is just another form of concept. You are still living in this world, and you still have to eat to survive right? It means you ...

Re: Capacity for following Dzogchen

Regarding talking about one's own meditative experiences and instructions received from teachers, i have heard from masters that this will degenerate one's own experiences and insights and deplete the blessings of the lineage to you.

Re: Throma Nagmo Teachings by Lama Tharchin Rinpoche

Thanks everyone for your clarification. ChNNR said that as long as the practice belongs to Anuyoga style, we can do it in the short way he prescribed. So i will assume that this practice belongs to the Anuyoga style... because as Yudron and Malcolm said, the view is Ati yoga, but the method is trans...

Re: Throma Nagmo Teachings by Lama Tharchin Rinpoche

Anyone knows if this teaching of Throma Nagmo belongs to the Anuyoga or Mahayoga?
If it is Anuyoga? Can we practise using CHNNR's essential way of generating the deity?

Re: Zen has No Morals

When a person has genuine realisation of emptiness, the mental afflictions will be diminished and eventually eradicated totally. For those who claim that having realisations can still leave their mental afflictions intact, the most euphemistic way to describe that is their 'realisations' do not corr...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

I would like to ask about the Gomadevi practice. I think i received the transmission from Rinpoche in the retreat. But after listening to quite a few webcasts, I did not hear him describe the purpose of this practice? Since it is a secondary practice, does it have any specific function or benefits? ...

Re: Amitabha Buddha

IMHO, pureland practice should be practised in conjunction with Dzogchen, it is a kind of safe-guard. Also, many enlightened masters went to Sukhavati...
