Avalokiteshvara Khasarpani question

So this is a shot in the dark, but does anyone have or know of a translation of the sadhana for Avalokitesvara Khasarpani from the Bari Gyatsa?

Re: Pagan Deity Propitiation by Dharma Siblings

When your dharma siblings go to a doctor or any other specialist, or hang out with a friend who isn't you, do you tell them, "But ... but ... but ... he's not the Buddha!"? :stirthepot:

Re: Trying to find a certain teaching on turning mundane daily activities into Dharm

I believe it was by Longchenpa, but not sure. But it advised things like, "when you walk through a door, imagine that you're taking all sentient beings with you out of samsara" and so on. Can't seem to find it. Anyone familiar with this is and know where I can find it? I believe it would ...

It's been on the dot since anatomically modern humans came up with the idea of religion. :P

Re: Question

What deities or sadhanas would be most effective in countering a curse where someone called upon Santa Muerte? I'm asking for future reference. For background, Santa Muerte is a Central American death goddess who is very popular in Mexico and among those who are from Mexico. Considering that Santa ...

Re: Innovative ways of mantra counting

If you are not using a proper mala, in secret, it does not matter how mantras you count. They don't count. Only mantras counted in formal sessions count. But hey, we know that people are very fond of criticizing others for following traditions that have no basis in the teachings, while embracing no...

Re: Ngakpa tradition & magic

This is an interesting remark. Could you say a little more?.... For example, if a person is in a magical tradition that works with five elements, that person studies the nature of each element, their interactions, and how to work with them to achieve certain results. But if that person isn't aware ...

Best Translation of the Praises to the 21 Taras

This is a question directed to everyone on this board: To your knowledge, what translation of the praises to the 21 Taras best combines beauty with accuracy, and where can I find that translation?

Prevent an unjust execution

http://edition.cnn.com/2015/09/16/us/oklahoma-richard-glossip-execution/ Richard Glossip, who is on death row in Oklahoma, is very likely innocent of the crimes of which he is accused. He was convicted of paying to have someone murdered. However, the ONLY evidence in his case was the word of a drug ...

Re: Practices "for" ISIL

Well, then I think that the best funding option is something like Gofundme, maybe? Also, perhaps Chorten Gompa should be contacted to find out what it will take to have 1,000,000 Dorje Drollo, 1,000,000 Vajrakilaya, and 1,000,000 Singhamukha mantras recited along with an appropriate number of activi...

Re: Practices "for" ISIL

Did Milarepa ever winny and neigh about his limitations when he was doing difficult things under Marpa? Neither should we. If something is difficult, try hard. If something is incredibly unlikely to work, try harder. Joy and growth are found in the effort, even if the effort fails. Death and stagnat...

Re: Practices "for" ISIL

Concern with not over-reaching oneself -> safety, albeit with idleness and stagnation.
A healthy amount of disregard for one's "limitations" -> Growth, albeit with the possibility of failure.

So then we just do nothing .... but with a good motivation, and that will be more effective than doing something even if not done perfectly? With as much respect as possible, I completely, profoundly disagree with you on this and request that my thread not be hijacked.

Re: Practices "for" ISIL

If we don't do anything about the demons that threaten all of us, then practice will be a moot point. Unless you think living in Kivu Province in the Congo will speed anyone to enlightenment, which would be the ultimate result of ignoring problems in the external world just because solving those pro...

What prevents that from being an excuse for not doing anything? "Well, it sure is awful that that woman is being raped three feet away from me, but there's a woman being raped 10 miles away and I'm not doing anything about that, plus I need to worry about subjugating myself instead of subjugati...

Re: Practices "for" ISIL

I've been thinking of starting a gofundme to raise funds for sponsoring 1,000,000 Dorje Drollo mantras (or maybe Guru Drakphur,) 1,000,000 Vajrakilaya mantras, and 1,000,000 Singhamukha mantras (with the appropriate number of activity mantras too), and a large number of protector offerings. Maybe P...
