I found "Full Catastrophe Living" by Kabat -Zinn very useful - he uses Buddhist meditation techniques to help people live with the kind of conditions you suffer from. Cured me of a chronic sinus headache, and helps me deal with tinnitus. I'm also a lot more upbeat. I also admire the writin...

I still have yet to come across proof that beings such as Buddhas and Bodhisattvas actually exist. Isn't it presumptuous to assume that human beings are really powerful enough to attain the highest state of being possible... that so-called "enlightenment" or bodhi? How do you know we aren...

What about the 3 pure precepts and the 10 grave precepts? Including four good ones for forum use:

Refrain from untruthful speech
Refrain from speaking of others' errors and faults
Refrain from elevating yourself and blaming others
Do not give vent to anger

I am curious if part of the path of Buddhism is to ultimately remove all emotions that one may have towards objects that bring happiness, replacing it completely with the happiness of love and compassion. Or can one live with both as long as they have the insight to not exaggerate feelings towards ...
