Re: Buddhism is peaceful?

So the construction of large Guru Rinpoche statues was prophesied by Dudjom Rinpoche as to be able to avert invasion of Tibet? I have never heard of that before. Do share some information about this or a reference. Thanks Yes I agree there is definitely collective karma in play in the loss of Tibet....

Re: Buddhism is peaceful?

Sectarianism is like Racism, it is such a base emotion and feeling. People can say praise to Je Pabongka's works but he was sectarian somehow that does not jive with me. Sectarianism is based on dualism, Pabongka is dualistic in his views? I don't buy it thats me anyhow. Guru Rinpoche already predic...

Re: Buddhism is peaceful?

If Pabongka really ordered the sacking of Nyingma monasteries I think we all have to start burning our copies of the Lamrim ~ 'Liberation in the Palm of your Hands' the only safe text would be the Lamrim Chenmo by Je Tsongkhapa. Plus such a sectarian action will create a lot of negative karma for Pa...

50 Stanzas of Guru Devotion

Did a puja in Ipoh a part of Malaysia and we recited the 50 Stanzas of Guru Devotion. And one of the attendees was freaked out with the references to going to the lower realms disparaging the guru and so forth. To which I answered him that you can go to the lower realms without the help of a guru st...

Daka and Dakini

Can people be reborn as a Daka or Dakini? If yes what is the cause for that?

Or that is only something tantrikas can learn about ?

Thanks

White Dzambala

Dear Everyone,
Can anyone explain the significance of the dragon on the White Dzambala deity?

Is the practice of White Dzambala to overcome one's ego or arrogance whilst one has tremendous wealth?

Thanks

Re: Abhidharma

Thank you jkhedrup and Tom.

I have been reading the Lamrim Chenmo by Lama Tsongkhapa.

Thanks for the pointers, if the Abhidharma for the Theravadan tradition similar to the ones in our tradition. The Theravadan forums tend to have quite a huge corpus of teachings associated with the Abhidharma.

Abhidharma

Could someone let me know what is Abhidharma and in the context of the Lamrim is it part of the Lamrim.

I have zero idea about Abhidharma if someone can explain to me the 101 of Abhidharma that would be wonderful.

Thank you

Re: You Don't Own your Body

I asked this question about ownership many years back with colleagues and team mates do we own our own body at all? And my argument was the the fact you do not have full control over your own body means that you actually do not own it. If we own something we will have full control over it. Not havin...

Rebirth as a GOD

If we practice ethics and that leads us to the higher realms. And if we cannot become an Arhat in this life, how do we avoid a rebirth as a god or demi god whereby we will just spend all our good karma away and this results in us going to the lower realms?

Thanks in advance.

Re: New to this forum and Vajrayana in general.

Rinpoche means Precious One, Lama's are given the title Precious One because they have the dharma in them that they can share with us. And dharma is the real thing that can bring us out of suffering and bring us closer towards enlightenment. Actually teachers they like their students to be independe...
