Deactivate my account

Hello. I'm not sure who to ask about this and have tried to PM the admin several times with no results. Could someone please deactivate my account?

Thanks very much.

Re: Receiving Longchen Nyingtik

Khentrul Lodro Thaye Rinpoche will be in Santa Rosa, CA at the end of the month: https://katogcholing.com/schedule-details.php?id=345

He holds the entire Nyingthig lineage. Before talking to him, you should also read this: https://katogcholing.com/approach.php

Good luck!

Re: Shine without objet and mahamudra

I'm not an expert, but one difference I've been told about is that shine/shamatha is just resting; that's the limit of that meditation. I don't know if that helps.

Yes, simple. Hope everyone is fortunate to have this situation. Feel free to delete this and previous posts. They aren't helpful.

Re: Secrecy in Vajrayana

Sometimes teachers are not very accessible or have so many students that they can't possibly respond in depth. In such cases, students may feel very much on their own.

Re: Secrecy in Vajrayana

How does a Vajrayana practitioner (particularly newbies) check their experience, especially if the signs are seemingly negative or discouraging? It seems that there are some sanghas that do not assemble regularly and do not have a teacher readily available. Vajrayana is vast and complex - there must...

Re: Dzongsar Khyentse's Advice for Social Media

I really feel that he's posting these guidelines as a way to help practitioners to guard their minds and their practice. I think it is a support rather than a scolding, and for me, a reminder that it's so easy to delude myself.

Re: reinvigorgating practice

Hi Lise. I have gone (and periodically go) through these kinds of periods. In my experience, a lot of it has to do with resistance and I find that practicing even a little each day and taking a light touch with practice really helps, as does letting go of expectations about how the practice should b...

Re: Rules for Vajrayana group practice

I've only done unelaborate medium-length sadhanas in a group. The full-blown bells and whistles would be incredibly cacophonous... But maybe it would be a good test for our concentration abilities? Don't they say if you can practice even when distracted, you are well trained? ;) I kid... As for RoB,...

Re: Rules for Vajrayana group practice

Thanks all again for your comments. I hope my comments did not imply any criticism or disrespect toward any group.

I hope folks who can practice with others realize how fortunate they are to have that support and knowledge.

Re: Rules for Vajrayana group practice

I have no sangha in the area and have been told that I can't practice Shower of Blessings with the two groups here that so that because I received empowerment from a different teacher. It isn't a problem... I was just curious. Thank you so much! You could always hold it in your living room as a neu...

Re: Rules for Vajrayana group practice

Thanks Yudron. Yes, I'm familiar with the rules about who can practice what. I was more curious about Vajrayana practitiones practicing different sadhanas together. (I've done it with friends where we're all muttering together at th same time. Guess that isn't common...) No, I've never heard of any...

Rules for Vajrayana group practice

Hi. A quick question for the Vajrayana practitioners - what are the rules about group practice for Vajrayana? My local Shambhala center sometimes hosts a space for Vajrayana practitioners to get together and practice. Everyone does different practices and I asked if I could practice with them. Their...

Collection of stories about ordinary practitioners

Hi all. I've always found stories about the lives of previous masters inspiring (Masters of Miracles and Meditation; Marvelous Garland of Rare Gems, etc). I'm wondering if there are any good books or collections of stories about "regular" practitioners... Those who practiced their whole li...

Re: sharing Dharma

I don't know if it's ever stuck, but if people ask me about meditation, I'll share my experience and relate with them about as much as they are interested. I try to be very conscious to not preach or be evangelical about it at all. It really depends on the person and the context. If it's a friend or...

Re: Anxiety meds

I have long-standing chronic major depressive disorder and found that meds helped put a floor under the symptoms until I regained enough resiliency to see things clearly and make balanced choices. Then I got off the meds and haven't used them in the 10 years since (although I've had a few difficult ...
