Re: Difficulty doing Manjushri practices and prayers due to negative association
In the sutras (Avatamsaka Sutra, Lotus Sutra) Manjushri abide in his Pure Land - Vimala in another universe, wherein he manifests himself as the Buddha which he actually already is. He is in fact a perfect Buddha who among many vows - vowed to emanate all over the universes as a Bodhisattva to put t...

Yet even single Chod practice properly done liberates troubles. Just like that. Why is that so? source of all troubles in clinging to e...

Re: Saraswati Lamas
but in general peaceful form of Sarasvati is not very popular practice in Tibetan Buddhism, however practice of wrathful forms are very popular - Vajravetali (within Yamantaka tantra practices) being one, and Palden Lhamo Magzor Gyalmo as most popular.

Re: Saraswati Lamas
you may ask any Gelug Geshe or RInpoche for Sarasvati jenangs (blessing initiation) from Rinjung Gyatsa. This goes with simple sadhana and does not necessary requires commitments of daily practice - but it depends on teacher - you need to ask before jenang what comittments are. There are many center...

Re: Psoriasis
As far as I know in Tibetan medicine psoriasis is considered a naga sickness. At least Lama Dawa Chodak Rinpoche categorized it this way. Some problems can be caused to nagas in our past lives and 'inherited' by new body. Solutions are to perform healing practice to cure naga/nagas who got sick beca...

Re: A different look at Guru Yoga
I'm not sure about Ringu Tulku's background. I've only seen him speak once. He spoke in English that's as good as mine. I like some of his books. But I'm pretty sure he's a well established Karma Kagyupa. Short bio: Ringu Tulku Rinpoche is a Tibetan Buddhist Master of the Kagyu Order. He was traine...

Re: Did the 84 mahasiddhas practice Ngöndro?
at the same time, i don't think ngöndro is mandatory and certain individuals can be persistent enough without ngöndro - if we are to believe that many masters have actually attained realisation without prostration boards and sifting through kilos of saffron rice :) I absolutely agree. That's why I ...

Re: Did the 84 mahasiddhas practice Ngöndro?
Great discussion :anjali: for first 10 years of my Dharma "practice" I was soooo against doing Ngondro..! You don't really have to follow that teacher who tells you you must do it. There are so many Lamas out there. "You can have many Lamas and only this one who was the most kind for ...

well that's all is of course non-tantric views, because to create image of Yidam in tantra is part of practice and was performed since first tantras were though by Buddha
