Re: End of the Kali-Yuga and the Mayan-Tibetan Connection

I should be studying and meditating instead of trying to convince others about something that they've already decided they are vehemently against (not saying that everyone in this discussion has that attitude). :tantrum: You don't even respond to all the arguments I make over PM. For example you sa...

I may not have all the answers, but Samael Aun Weor is crap.

That much I am sure of.

Re: End of the Kali-Yuga and the Mayan-Tibetan Connection

This conversation or the other conversation? If you wish to have a personal dialogue with Lhug-pa: GO FOR IT! But it would probably be more sensible to do it via PM if you don't want others intervening and pointing out mistakes and fallacies. :namaste: Oh we've done that trust me. The guy is hopele...

Actually it completely does, because it has no basis within the context of the conversation.

Lhug-Pa should have replied in the other thread.

gregkavarnos wrong as usual I see. I'm trying to make the point that Samael Aun Weor is garbage. You missed the discussion in this thread: http://www.dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=6170" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Actually all these posts should be over there.

Ok why not take up dream yoga yourself?

You see what I'm saying?

You following S.A.W. is like you following any random Western magician on any internet forum, and a crappy one at that.

Why don't you practice dream yoga directly?

Re: So where do authentic christians go when they die?

There is certainly real historical Gnostiscism written about by published university professors

Of course I don't follow it though. I am a Buddhist.

Re: So where do authentic christians go when they die?

Even if Mead's and King's writings might have a little Eurocentrism, they're still better than a lot of the contemporary writings on the topic. Anyway, I already addressed the whole "new agey" thing in the End of the Kali Yuga thread in 'the Lounge'. First off, of course S.A.W. is New Age...

Re: So where do authentic christians go when they die?

My main point was that the root of Christianity (Gnosticism) at least conceives of that which is beyond samsaric form realms and samsaric heavens, etc. I actually was an evangelical Christian at one point, and I looked into the Gnostic scriptures. But I looked into real historical Gnostiscism.....l...

Re: End of the Kali-Yuga and the Mayan-Tibetan Connection

Asking someone to be more genuine is hardly 'giving advice', it's a common courtesy we should be all be exercising on this forum. Let's be honest alwayson, you do speak as if you have a superior view and experience. I'm fairly sure whoever your Guru is, they haven't advised you to convey yourself l...

Re: End of the Kali-Yuga and the Mayan-Tibetan Connection

Dilgo Khyentse RInpoche was one of the great Dzogchen masters of our time, the Dzogchen master of HH the Dalai Lama, and yet he continued to do Ngondro-- accumulating merit and wisdom-- until the end of his life. Again conflating two different issues I think it was Longchenpa who says the accumulat...

Re: End of the Kali-Yuga and the Mayan-Tibetan Connection

It's not necessary for Dzogchen. But it can only help. Someone recently in another thread posted a great quote from Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche regarding this. That was a different thing, about doing various practices. Of course you can do those various practices. But there is no accumulation of merit ...

You're right, I should have just left it at asking what's with the disrespect. Anyway, how can we be sure that David Grey is accurately translating, and from original source texts? The main point is that Buddhist sexual practice was originally about going beyond the boundaries of Indian social norm...

Actually there are various kinds of kumbhaka even in Vajrayana.

By no means it does.

Lets not conflate kumbhaka with the more complex practices in which it is an essential component.
