Re: I am the director of the documentary TULKU. Ask me anything.

You're in a desert, walking along in the sand, when all of a sudden you look down and see a tortoise laying on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping. Why is that, Gesar? lol, tell me about ...

Re: I am the director of the documentary TULKU. Ask me anything.

Have you had / do you have any memories of your last life? Someone here said that back on Esangha you said no, you had none, and it'd be great to know what the truth is. I was under the impression you'd at least had some upsurging of past associations when you went back to visit the monastery in Ti...

Re: How to know a teachers level of realization?

If I don't know what Vajra hell is then I haven't strayed completely and my views are with some merit, If I do know what Vajra hell is and I say it's not a big deal then my views are founded in experience. :) Stop worrying about Vajra Hell and bad teachers. I never contradicted Patrul Rinpoche becau...

No they're not playing with toys and dreaming of being a hot occasinal freelance for a couple years for MTV sharkies, they're learning their field properly in theory, history and practice and play with stuff like Arri. Take that next batch of money and ask Khyentse Norbu where you should study with...

Re: How to know a teachers level of realization?

For me I sense a deep arrogance and problematic materialism in trying to critique a teacher. If you have basic intelligence and some Dharmic chops you move with what is there and you sense what works for you. Oh and I've lost Kongtrul.

Re: How to know a teachers level of realization?

I don't think telling the masses to waste their extremely rare precious human life in this universe and then go to vajra hells is what the dharma is all about or wise. Also we have the ancient five sites of importance in dharma: the teacher, the teaching, the student, time and space. Interestingly ...

Re: How to know a teachers level of realization?

In my opinion it is more important to be a genuine student then to have a great teacher. Everything points towards the path rather then the fruition. I don't think it's a bad idea to be lead astray, in the end it may be better for you or not make that much difference. Vajra hell is not that bad a pl...

Re: I am the director of the documentary TULKU. Ask me anything.

Has being recognized as a tulku hurt or helped your practise? That's a very subjective and opinion based question to answer. From a positive perspective it's helped me immensely in giving me access to many great teachers and by forcing me to return to my dharmic roots constantly. Also the problems ...

And wrong decision can lead you to hell, because as Padmasambhava says ... You should know that the master is more important Than the Buddhas of a hundred thousand aeons, Because all the Buddhas of the aeons Appeared through following masters. There will never be any Buddhas Who have not followed a...

I am the director of the documentary TULKU. Ask me anything.

Hello some of you may know me others may not.. I was recognized as a tulku when I was three years old in Berkley California, my father is Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche so I was exposed to quite a few teachers and craziness as a child. I directed a documentary called Tulku which examines the phenomena of ...

Re: How to know a teachers level of realization?

Why are you so concerned on gauging a teachers realization? The most reliable way is to reach a high level of realization yourself but to do so you need a good teacher..... You may as well just practice and study and see what comes. In the words of Carmelo Soprano "More is lost by indecision th...

I will give a teaching that has not been given before.... To gain additional merit combine the occasional trash tal...
