Dogen did train in China and I can't imagine they taught him in Japanese.

For what it's worth, I see my teacher in real life on a weekly basis for the past year and I can't say I know him in a way that would make me less surprised if he were depressed.

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
It seems that one of the main issues, that of Paul Lynch's transmission, remains unanswered. It still seems to me that this is a simple matter that could be put to rest with a simple answer.

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
This isn't very complicated. When I applied for my current job, my resume' said I had a degree from such and such a school. Before I was officially hired, all this was verified. My job wasn't doing anything wrong by checking on this and it would have been absurd for me to deflect providing this info...

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
With all due respect, that seems like a rather long-winded non-answer wrapped in Zen language where a simple "I don't know, I'll find out" would have been more useful if you really just don't.

Looks like a lot of the same information. Even getting through the poor English, the arguments presented aren't the most coherent in the world. Yeah I just tried to read it again, it`s your reading not my writing. Most of it was from Sweeping Zen and copied pasted. so try harder. And I am not tryin...

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
I'm really saddened by all this. I was hoping this would be cleared up in a good way. The people I've interacted with at Five Mountain have all been very nice and I hate to think that they are getting shammed.

The whole conversation that had happened on his student's blog has been deleted, including the comment asking if there was censorship happening because a previous comment on the issue had been deleted.

Finally, I would like to point out that there is a fully inclusive ordination option through the Mook Rim (pronounced "Moong Neem") Society founded by Bishop Jongmae Park and some of his Jogye colleagues. People not eligible to ordain in the Taego Order can still study in the Taego semina...

Pay closer attention to the registration process. You likely put that your birth date was in 1999 and you are 12 year old or something.Wesley1982 wrote:I tried to register but why is it requesting parent or guardian signatures in the registration process? . .

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
Much of this discussion and that in the Taego Order-oriented threads here at DharmaWheel seem to pit the Five Mountain Order against the Taego Order: the former as an alternative to the latter. I'm wondering what the attitude among Five Mountain folks is toward the Taego school generally; someone p...

Re: Taego Order: 2011 Bikkhu Ordination

I hope these issues are cleared up in a few years when my life situation would shift and (I will be finished with graduate school in two years ...
