Re: Was karmamudra part of ganachakra in the ancient India?

Engaging in karmamudra practice demands some qualifications, as well as outer, inner, and secret signs applying to body, speech, and mind. These specificities are discussed in special works known as “ pho-khrid ”, i.e., Guidance for Males, and “ mo-khrid ”, i.e., Guidance for Females. These descrip...

Re: Was karmamudra part of ganachakra in the ancient India?

Snd I looked at this tantra you're talking about they said ,9th Century on palm leaves.. Tentatively dated to 5th or 6th. That's highly speculative so... And isn't Navatman mantra just a term for main mantra for something? And all the syllables in Kalachakra are commly held. Nothing unique about HA...

Re: Was karmamudra part of ganachakra in the ancient India?

Mod note: The quoted post has been removed. This is extremely disrespectful of other traditions you know less than nothing about. There’s nothing noble about diminishing others and inflating one’s self. It demonstrates that you haven’t taken fundamental teachings of your own tradition to heart. Why...

WTF is normal anyway? Lots of neurotypical people approve of the Gaza genocide, of building walls in rivers to drown migrants, of stopping boats from rescuing drowning refugees fleeing economic despair and war, police killing people because they are the “wrong colour”, et al, ad nauseum. Re: Stagnant sanghas, teachers not teaching

I was often told to do things I didn't want to do or to stop doing things I wanted to do. Sometimes these were little things. Sometimes these were big things, like vefry, very big things. The pain was my own pain of attachment. But there was never a time that I could just "drift." I was n...

1. "He [Guru Rinpoche] did not place termas anywhere else." That's not true. Terma have been revealed in the U.S . and I feel quite certain that more will come. Revealed by whom, and where? Can you provide details? The rest of your contribution was quite on point by the way. Orgyen Kusum ...

You're projecting. This is pure lineage dharma, pal. If it wasn't taught to me by my lama, I don't speak on it. You should be careful with your "witty" remarks. They might be disparaging dharma and breaking samaya, Karma Dorje. I wasn’t speaking in jest. Very on point with the schoolmarmi...

That’s a strange example: photographs from space are themselves false relative truth, with a whole mountain of assumptions required a priori for them to validate anything. Correct relative truth is the path and path phenomena, full stop. False relative truth is the world as it appears to deluded sen...

I find in cults outside of Buddhism doomsday style pronouncements happen often under 2 preconditions. Soon after a health scare of an aging cult leader or in times the cult is losing it's mojo and having financial difficulty. eg, Make a bigger donation. Be more devoted to your practice. You won't n...

Guys HH Dalai Lama said aspiration prayers don't help, you have to take intelligent action. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1CH0hlP0Mjg Folks need to remember why we as Buddhists recite prayers and mantras. We are not asking for help from powerful beings outside ourselves. We are aspiring to change o...

I was discussing with a lama friend of mine (that gives internet teachings) how pay rates need to be adjusted depending on the country a person comes from. We have to take into account that asking (for example) for $20 from a Swiss participant, is not the same as asking for $20 from a Vietnamese pa...

Samsara can’t be “solved” on any sort of collective level, it can just be collectively managed better or worse. Samsara can’t be managed collectively or individually. It’s housekeeping in a dream: one is exhausted by the effort and the house is still dirty when you wake up. What we can do is create...

Guru Rinpoche and His Tertons made these prophecies. If these prophecies deserve serious consideration, then the antidotes He and His Tertons also specified also deserve serious consideration. This is it. If one doesn’t understand how intention and aspiration can interdict negative states at both a...

Re: Young Asian American Buddhists are reclaiming narrative after decades of white dominance (continued)

The problem arises because in the West we get our philosophy from Greece and our religion from the Middle East. The two have always been strange bedfellows in our discourse, whereas the idea of separating them is pretty much unthinkable in Asian contexts.

Re: Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Tibetan Iconography

I personally am looking for an iconography of Ksitigarbha that is standing, based on a terma of Orgyen Kusum Lingpa Rinpoché. Standing Ksitigarbha is the usual form in East Asian Buddhism, and can be found in East Asia, Inner Asia, Dunhuang, etc. Chenda, could you share a little bit about Ksitigarb...
