(I am not assuming that you need to hear this message Booker I am just putting this out there for anyone who might benefit from knowing if they already don't :) ) No worries :) However all that being said I have heard that the sidpa gyalmo yeshe walmo mantra and healing practice has been encouraged...

Re: Sidpa Gyalmo mantras

Hi. I've heard using wrathful mantras without initiation may lead one to some bad consequences, ie. harming oneself and others. I'm not sure to what degree this is applicable, but if we read ie. Heart Drops of Dharmakaya, there's a line over there some dzogchen practices can lead to not so nice cons...

Sure the point is valid. What was invalid was Mariusz's assumption on my post, where he believed I advocated such a thing.... :consoling:

Re: NON-DUALITY

So it seems to me you, as ordinary being, are writing how minimize the suffering a little, how reduce it to neutral feeling, like some kind of zombie. Yes I am an ordinary being, but the rest of your assumptions about my post you got wrong. And quite interestingly you went so easily to find a fault...

mindyourmind for some reason when the [dualistic] mind dissapears the suffering also dissapear. It's like you would cool down the fire. And then you also know why you suffer and where and why does it come from. But there's no "you" in that, and by that it's also terrifying. Maybe not inst...

Re: Mantras

Do mantras have meaning? Or are they empty of meaning? Take the words of a sutra. Take these words as mere optical symbols when read and mere acoustical symbols when heard. These symbols are empty of meaning. They are utterly meaningless in that there does not inhere the slightest meaning in the sy...

Re: Dealing with Christian Fundamentalists

be buddha. Don't be Buddhist. You can't engage fundamentalism of any kind with reason. You must reach it where it clings - in its human factor. Everyone understands feeling like crap. Touch into the human common ground. That is all. Everyone suffers, this we can agree on. Ideology need not be a fac...

Re: Knowing... what does it mean?

Tim, I know every being has Natural State which can't be lost/attained, but I can't tell I have rigpa, why? Simple, because I'm not in the state of rigpa. I'm in a state of marigpa.

So, just as I am now... marigpa. :)

Best to you too.

Re: Tögal for dzogchen beginners?

If you read the book a little more closely, Thrangu Rinpoche says on p.205, "If you want to do any of these types of practices then you should get instruction from a lama and meditate according to their instructions. If you just do it on your own without any instructions, it will not be easy a...

no need to argue, just experience your every day state. i know that non duality is popular, but experienceing rigpa in the non dual state is no different from experienceing it in a dual state. i have experimented with these different states. non dual perception merely comes when one has dissolved t...

Re: If Mahakashyapa was first Zen/Chan patriarch..

Sravakas do not meditate?!!!!! Perhaps I was overgeneralising, there are streams where meditation is performed but is regarded as a method for a very advanced practitioners only. If you read some modern interpretations, like from Sujin Boriharnwanaket clearly the base is on listening and reflecting...

Re: If Mahakashyapa was first Zen/Chan patriarch..

then isn't Chan/Zen a Sravakayana school Nope it's not. 1) Sravakas know no buddha nature concept 2) Sravakas do not meditate, method is to listen to teachings and reflect upon them and that creates conditions for sati to arise and with it, they can have an insigth into the reality directly. In Zen...
